Dr. Faiq Shah
Instructor & TrainerOverview:
I'm a family doctor with a background in emergency medicine, and teaching is my passion. No matter where or in what field of medicine I've worked, I've always been involved in teaching. I have been in teaching since the beginning to 1995.
I taught Biochemistry for almost four years in Baqai Medical College. Then I wrote an exam-oriented review book of Biochemistry for the medical and dental students by the name of "Instant Biochemistry". The book gained so much fame that it became a must-read book among the students of human sciences in Pakistan and many other Asian countries.
I took many medical licensing and postgraduate exams but never passed any of them in first attempt. I have huge and vast experience of failing every exam in my first attempt with the exception of few. However, this experience of repeated failure became a source of strength and led to the success of my education business.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
After graduating from Dow Medical College in Karachi, I worked as a lecturer in the Biochemistry Department at Baqai Medical College for nearly four years. I passed the USMLE and then worked in the emergency medicine department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for four years. During this time, I completed my MRCP Part 1 and received an exemption for MRCEM Part A. However, before finishing my MRCP and MRCEM, I was accepted into a fellowship program in emergency medicine in Australia. I worked at Geelong Hospital in Australia for almost eight months but had to leave the fellowship due to unavoidable priorities and return to Pakistan.
Later on, I completed the MRCGP Int. South Asia and briefly worked in the emergency medicine department at Al Ain Hospital in the UAE. Eventually, I decided to establish my own teaching and training program for MRCGP CSA/OSCE and also obtained MCPS in Family Medicine from Pakistan.
I launched the Agile MRCGP CSA/OSCE Training courses in March 2011. It has been over a decade since I started this endeavor, and it has become a successful business. More than 800 doctors have attended my training program, with 677 of them becoming Family Medicine Specialists. Among them are four gold medalists/exam toppers in the MRCGP Int. South Asia exam and many Merit Achievers in the MRCGP Int. Kuwait and Dubai.
Alhamdulillah, it has been a highly successful journey thus far, and I am hopeful that in sha Allah it will continue in the same way.
